In 1673, Takatoshi Mitsui established the Echigoya clothing store in the Nihonbashi district of Edo (current day Tokyo). This store was to become the basis of the Mitsui Group.

Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. plans to develop the Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA, Kuala Lumpur’s first outlet project. They have an agreement with Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB). Construction starts in summer 2013, with opening in winter 2014. MAHB is listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.

Mitsui Fudosan Residential Co., Ltd. has entered into a business agreement with Eastern & Oriental Berhad (E&O) to develop the Mews Project in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The project will include 256 condominium units, scheduled for completion in November 2016.

Eastern & Oriental Bhd (E&O) and Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. have signed a joint venture to develop luxury residences in Damansara Heights, valued at RM348 million. The project, managed by MFBBCC Serviced Suites Sdn Bhd, involves acquiring 14 plots of freehold land for RM88.33 million. E&O will own 51%, and Mitsui Fudosan 49%.
